1. Betfred.co.za is licensed to carry on business as a bookmaker by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator and is subject to the relevant gambling legislation and gambling laws. Betfred conducts business in accordance therewith. All internet and mobile betting will be subject to the rules and regulations of the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator. 2.1. No person shall be eligible to bet or enforce any debt arising out of a bet unless -
2.1.1. such person is a natural, individual person, i.e. companies, close corporations and partnerships are specifically excluded from participating;
2.1.2. such person is over the age of 18 years;
2.1.3. such person has completed a registration form, has accepted the terms and conditions as set out by Betfred, and has been accepted as a customer by Betfred.co.za
2.1.4. such person is not in breach of these Terms and Conditions;
2.1.5. such person has been verified for FICA purposes.
3.1. Consent in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act: I acknowledge that Bettingworld PTY Ltd t/a Betfred (referred to as Betfred) may be required to process my personal information in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act no 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”). By clicking “I accept”, I hereby provide my consent to Betfred to process my personal information and to enable Betfred to fulfil its agreement with me. I further acknowledge that Betfred may obtain personal information from third parties for the purposes of fulfilling its agreement with me and agree that my consent extends to the obtaining and processing such information.
3.2. I further acknowledge that Betfred may share personal information with its subsidiaries and holding companies and agree that my consent extends to include such sharing. Betfred will delete or de-identify personal information collected from me should I no longer be a customer and if it is no longer needed and understand my right to access and correct personal information collected. I further accept, and consent to, that by betting in any retail or online platform, that I may be subject to an identity check by Fraudcheck.
3.3. I acknowledge that Betfred may be required to transfer my personal information, to locations outside of South Africa. Such transfers will occur in compliance with applicable local law relevant to the source of the information but may result in a transfer of personal information to a jurisdiction that does not have the same or a better level of data protection compared to South Africa. To the extent that such transfer is required or is necessary, I agree that my consent extends to include such transfers.
3.4. In terms of POPIA, Betfred is obligated to provide you with certain information relating to the processing of your personal information at the time we collect it from you.
3.5. We therefore advise as follows:
3.5.1. We are required to process your personal information to fulfil our contractual obligations to you. Any such personal information is provided by you on a voluntary basis.
3.5.2. If you do not provide us with your personal information, it may prevent us from fulfilling our contractual obligations to you.
3.5.3. We may from time-to-time source your personal information from external sources or third parties in order to comply with regulatory requirements. Such personal information will only be processed as required in terms of applicable legislation.
3.5.4. We may be required to share your personal information with affiliates of Betfred (subsidiary or holding companies) and with third parties outside of South Africa. Such transfers of personal information may be to a jurisdiction that does not have the same or a better level of data protection compared to South Africa.
3.5.5. You have the right to request access to and correction of your personal information as well as to object to the processing of your personal information.
3.5.6. We will delete or de-identify personal information that it has collected from you if it is no longer required to be retained.

3.5.8. Our processing of personal information will be in line with applicable legislation including the Act.
